21st Century American Medical Education

How to forget what Hippocrates said: “Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity.” Within this context, it is our great pleasure to inform you that a special event took place on April 20, 2015, at the Cosmos Club, a private social club, incorporated in Washington, D.C. in 1878 by men distinguished in science, literature and the arts. It is well-known that since its founding, the Cosmos Club has elected as members individuals in virtually every profession that has anything to do with scholarship, creative genius or intellectual distinction.

Health Group Forum hosted on April 20, 2015, at the Cosmos Club, reconfirmed the importance of working together by making a bit of history, and addressing the challenges, opportunities and the medical curriculum innovations stimulated by Washington DC’s highly distinguished deans, Jeffrey S. Akman, MD of George Washington University, Edward Eugene Cornwell III, MD of Howard University, Arthur L. Kellerman, MD, MPH of Uniformed Services University, and Stephen Ray Mitchell, MD, MBA of Georgetown University (Eliot Sorel, MD, Editor).
