Monday, June 24th, 2013, at the University of Toronto, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, Global Health Division (Dalla NonCommunicable Disease Series.pdf) a very interesting “Book Launch and Discussion”: “21st Century Mental Health” took place (Presenter: Eliot Sorel, Professor, School of Public Health and Health Services, George Washington University; in discussion with: Kwame McKenzie, Senior Scientist, Health Services and Health Equity Research section, Deputy Director of Continuing & Community Care Schizophrenia Program Professor, Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto; moderated by: Abdallah Daar, Professor of Public Health Sciences and Surgery, University of Toronto, Senior Scientist and Director of Ethics and Commercialization Sandra Rotman Centre, University Health Network, Chief Science and Ethics Officer and Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board,Grand Challenges Canada – please see photo).

Professor Eliot Sorel, chair, founder of the Youth Democracy Forum at the Elliott School of International Affairs , will present this year’s Wilsonian Lecture on President Woodrow Wilson’s strategic vision for post-World War I Europe. The event will take place at the Woodrow Wilson house at 2340 S Street, NW in Washington DC, on Monday December 16th, 2013, at 17:30 hours. The event is open to the public.” 

Professor Eliot Sorel, founder of the WPA Conflict Management & Conflict Resolution Section and of the Youth Democracy Forum, at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES) of the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University presented this year’s Wilsonian Lecture.

The title of his lecture was President Woodrow Wilson’s Strategic Vision for post World War I Europe, its consequences for Romania and implications for collective, global security and economic development. A robust, thought provoking and action inviting dialogue followed after the very well received lecture. 

The event took place at the Woodrow Wilson House in Washington, DC on Monday, December 16th 2013 and was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, academics, and policymakers. “
