Wonderful Festive Christmas & New Year Concert of Bucharest Doctor’s Orchestra at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest on December 28, 2014

Our hearth was joyful again thanks to the divine way chosen by the Bucharest Doctor’s Orchestra to caress us with carols’ perfume, reconfirming that music is a moral law, raising our soul to all that is good, right and beautiful.

The Festive Christmas & New Year Concert was opened by Concert Maestro Mircea Penescu, who welcomed the participants with his well-known warmth and wisdom, announced the distinguished presence of special guests such as the world famous Soprano Mariana Nicolesco (who was invited, for instance,  by Pope John Paul II, to sing in the first ever Christmas Concert in the Vatican, which reached through Mondovisione one billion people; the distinguished Soprano also interpreted, on the occasion of the 3000 years of the Holy City, in world premiere Krzysztof Penderecki’s Seven Gates of Jerusalem, Lorin Maazel conducting ), and introduced the distinguished Concert Conductor Iosif Ion Prunner  (valuable pianist and orchestra and opera conductor, currently leading the Philharmonic Choir “George Enescu”), and a charming young valuable “quintet”: Emanuela Pascu (Mezzo-Soprano), Adrian Dumitru (Tenor), Silvia Micu (Soprano), Cătălin Țoropoc (Baritone), Rebecca Gee (Soloist, US). It is worth to mention that recently, at the 6th Edition of the International Singing Competition in China, which took place in Ningbo, where 430 contestants participated from 41 countries, the Tenor Adrian Dumitru received the First Prize, and Mezzo-Soprano Emanuela Pascu Second Prize.
