Answering to questions, Professor Eliot SOREL concluded with the most important ideas that the above mentioned International Congress promotes in the field of perinatal care: “Through this event, we want to convey the importance of the first 1,000 days of life in terms of care. We also want to convey the need to have a trans-disciplinary collaboration, not just at a specialized level. Of course, we need specialties, but there is a need for collaboration between these specialties. We want to implement the integration model that we have developed over the last few years and we have called TOTAL Health-Total Health. Total Health is an integrated approach between family medicine, mental health and other specialties and social services. Based on this model, we want to develop a project. It is about trans-disciplinary collaboration between specialties. The results will be much better in the case of a holistic approach. Besides the medical aspects, we would also have a more efficient use of resources”.
