Professor Eliot SOREL, Member of the Oversight Committee of the Trans-disciplinary Collaborative Center for Health Disparities

Professor Eliot SOREL, MD, of the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences and of the School of Public Health and Health Services, was recently appointed as a member of the Oversight Committee of the Trans-disciplinary Collaborative Center for Health Disparities.

 

Professor Sorel was appointed to this position by Dr. David SATCHER, the President of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute and a Principal Investigator of the five year project funded by the National Institutes of Health of the United States. The appointment is effective immediately. The Committee had its first meeting at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC, on Thursday August 8, 2013.

 

It is also worth to mentioning that two days before, the distinguished Honorary President of SANABUNA International Congress, Eliot Sorel, MD, Professor of Global Health, Health Services Management & Leadership in the School of Public Health and of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences in the School of Medicine at George Washington University, did a live webcast from the GWU campus with nearly five hundred undergraduate, graduate students and professors from the US, Italy & Romania attending the Atlantykron Summer Academy situated on an island in the Danube in Romania.

 

The topic of his presentation and robust dialogue with the students was, 21st Century Higher Education: Trans-disciplinarity, complexity and innovation. The webcast took place on Tuesday, August 6th 2013 and was superbly facilitated by the GWU Academic Technologies team.
