Professor Eliot SOREL’s prodigious activity recently reconfirmed by two April’s events

 

Professor Eliot SOREL, MD, DLFAPA, XD@GW Fellow, Senior Scholar Clinical Practice Innovations, George Washington University (GWU) School of Medicine & School of Public Health, Founder Conflict Management Section WPA, is a scholar of prodigious energy and fine intellect. His prodigious activity was recently reconfirmed by two April’s events:

 

“Depression and Comorbidity in Primary Care in China, India, Iran and Romania” – research project led by Eliot SOREL, MD – was published in the International Medical Journal of Japan in its April, 2016 issue. Data from this first of a kind research project was the basis for the Innovation Booth Dr. Sorel and his colleagues presented at the World Bank/WHO/NIMH  Global Mental Health Innovators Fair held at the Milken Institute School of Public Health April 13-15, 2016. Shabab Wahid and Chelsea Frakes, MISPH students enrolled in this spring Global Mental Health course directed by Dr. Sorel, assisted with the development of the booth and hosted the visitors to it.”

 

“Eliot Sorel, MD, Senior Scholar in Clinical Practice Innovations, Clinical Professor of Global Health, Health Policy & Management, and of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences co-chaired the Innovative, Transdisciplinary Research on Non-Communicable Diseases track at the Scientific Summit held at the University of the West in Timisoara, Romania, April 26-27, 2016. The scientific summit was organized by the Ministry of Education & Research of Romania and done under the aegis of HE Klaus Werner IOHANNIS, the President of Romania.”

 

It is also worth mentioning that on May14-18, 2016, in Atlanta, Georgia, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Scientific Meeting will take place (this 169th Annual Meeting is seen as a complete experience of continual growth). On May 16, 2016 Professor Eliot Sorel will Co-Chair – together with Constance E. Dunlap – the Surgeon General’s Report on Mental Health, Parity and Integrated Care Symposium (sponsored by Global Mental Health and Psychiatry Caucus of the APA Council on International Psychiatry).
